Next spring WCQS will lead two tours to Cuba. This guided journey, "Rediscover Cuba - A Cultural Exploration" was coordinated with our friends at Collette Vacations. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore a culture so close to our own shores, but cut off from the U.S. for fifty years. We'll explore this beautiful island nation, a country rich in history, culture and religion. Over the course of eight days of adventure in this timeless land, we will learn what life is like in Cuba.
We'll spend three nights in city of Trinidad, known for its cobblestone streets and pastel colored houses. We'll then spend four nights in Cuba's Capital City of Havana, staying at the historic Hotel Nacional. This program is designed to promote people-to-people cultural exchanges, so you will truly get to experience Cuba.
You'll be traveling with friends because our tour will attract people like you - public radio listeners. On this exclusive trip our group will be about 30 people - not too big, not too small. Music, dance, art, agriculture, a cigar factory and Ernest Hemingway's home are just some of the highlights you will enjoy with WCQS on this journey.
Please note: Trip one, scheduled for March 2 - 10, 2014, sold out before we even held the information session. Due to popular demand we added a 2nd trip which is also sold out; the dates for that trip are Feb. 18 - 26, 2014. We are taking names on a waiting list in case anyone backs out of the trip. If there is enough demand we may add a 3rd trip, but do not have a departure booked at this time.
