Asheville Symphony Orchestra broadcasts

Join us Tuesday morning at 10 and Thursday evening at 8 for our broadcast of the Asheville Symphony’s May 9 concert.  As the ASO prepares for the opening night concert of its 2015-2016 season Saturday, September 19th, we’ll bring you the final concert of last season.  The soloist is saxophonist Joe Lulloff, and he joins the symphony in Claude Debussy’s Rapsodie for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra, Duke Ellington’s Black, Brown and Beige Suite, and Darius Milhaud’s Scaramouche. After intermission, the orchestra plays Maurice Ravel’s Suites from his ballet Daphnis and Chloe.

Listen this week for two broadcasts of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra's February 8th concert. You can hear the concert,Tuesday morning at 10 when Dick Kowal will be your host, and again Thursday evening at 8 when Chip Kaufmann hosts.

On the concert program is  Tchaikovsky's Suite from Swan Lake Ballet and Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto with soloist Elena Urioste. Also featured is Muertes del angel by Osvaldo Golijov and Pavanne pour une infante defunte by Maurice Ravel.
