Bears Move to Texas

Eleven bears are getting acclimated to their new home in Texas.  The bears were moved from their home in Cherokee to the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary following a 450-thousand dollar donation from an anonymous donor.  David Hurand spoke with the Legal Counsel for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals which has been

working to improve living conditions for  the bears for several years.

WCQS Hosts Community Meeting in Brevard July 30th

WCQS is hosting a community meeting July 30th at 6:30 at the Transylvania County Library. President and CEO, Jody Evans, will take questions and comments and discuss plans for the station and its Brevard frequency.

Western North Carolina Public Radio, WCQS, will host a community meeting July 30th at 6:30 pm in the Transylvania County Library. WCQS President and CEO, Jody Evans, wants to hear from residents in Transylvania County about how the station is doing and how it can reflect the concerns and issues facing residents in Transylvania County. Evans will talk about what’s going on at the station and share news about WCQS’s radio signal in Brevard.
